Kaiser’s Amelia Schmidt to Lead Discussion with Bestselling Author Angie Kim

On Tuesday, May 7, Amelia Schmidt will lead a Q&A with bestselling author and former practicing white-collar defense attorney Angie Kim, whose novel Happiness Falls is being launched in paperback. The discussion, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the DC office of Hogan Lovells, is being jointly hosted by the Women’s White Collar Defense Association, the Harvard Law School Association of Washington, DC, the Harvard Club of Washington DC, the Harvard Asian American Alumni Alliance, and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of the Greater Washington, D.C. Area, Inc. (APABA-DC). The event is both in celebration of Angie’s book launch and in recognition of May as Pacific Islander and Asian American Heritage Month.

Amelia will be talking with Angie about her journey from practicing law to publishing fiction about the criminal justice system and its impact on individuals and their families—particularly women, immigrants, and special-needs children.

Further information and tickets to the event are available through the Harvard Club of Washington DC.
