Four Kaiser PLLC Attorneys Named to 2025 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll

Kaiser PLLC is proud to announce that four of its attorneys have been recognized on the 2025 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll, released by the D.C. Courts in partnership with the D.C. Access to Justice Commission and the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center. Sarah Fink, Amelia Schmidt, William Pittard, and Colby Moore each earned High Honor Roll distinction by exceeding 100 hours of pro bono service.

This year’s honor roll celebrates a record-breaking 6,052 attorneys who each contributed 50 hours or more of pro bono legal service in 2025, with 57 percent of honorees qualifying for the High Honor Roll.

“At a firm our size, having four attorneys recognized, all of them on the High Honor Roll, reflects something fundamental about who we are,” said Courtney Forrest, Managing Partner at Kaiser PLLC. “Pro bono work is not an afterthought here. It is part of how our attorneys think about the law and their responsibility to the community.”

Kaiser attorneys dedicated their time to a range of pro bono matters in 2025, including:

  • Representing Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a longtime Maryland resident with a U.S. citizen wife and children, who was deported to El Salvador in violation of an immigration court order and imprisoned in the notorious CECOT facility. Kaiser PLLC was brought in to assist in the depositions of senior government officials, drawing on the firm’s experience in high-profile, politically charged investigations;
  • Filing an amicus brief on behalf of non-governmental organizations in challenges to executive orders targeting law firms;
  • Filing a motion to dismiss an indictment arguing that federal sanctions-related charges are unconstitutional; and
  • Successfully litigating a motion to seal a criminal conviction for a client referred through Legal Aid and providing trial preparation support to the Federal Public Defender’s Office.

Kaiser PLLC applauds all attorneys named to the 2025 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll and remains committed to principled advocacy for those who need it most.
